In 2012 we’ve already lost Earl Scruggs, Levon Helm, MCA, and Doc Watson. Hold on to your hats and play your records; it looks like we’re in for a rough year folks.

One of the reasons I love my job

We got this email from our supervisor today (edited to fit Tumblrs whiny formatting standards):

Every Thursday this summer that you are in the office (and wish to participate), you are invited to compete for points in the first annual Robert H. “Bob” Jones Memorial Golf Tournament.  I hope this will catch on and become a yearly summer event for the guys. (Ladies - we regret to inform you that we subscribe to the Augusta National Golf Club’s rules of membership…sorry).

 

The rules are simple:

• 1.       Three (3) teams of two (2) chosen by a random draw.  Teams will be drawn each week.
• a.      If we have an uneven number, the single player is allowed to play two balls on each hole.
• 2.      Captain’s Choice rules apply.
• 3.      Nine (9) holes constitute one match.
• a.      Each team will alternate hole selection using the regulation hula-hoop.
• 4.      Only one (1) club is allowed per player per nine (9) holes.
• 5.      Summer 2012 – only property belonging to the Moore House is in play..everything else is OB.
• a.      Summer 2013 – this rule will be revisited as the course will expand in a return to Graham Hall.
• 6.      Only Wiffle-golf balls are allowed on the course.

• 1.       Points awarded to each individual based on team performance.
• a.      First place – 5 points
• b.      Second place – 3 points
• c.       Third place – 1 point
• 2.      Individuals can receive 1 point for any hole-in-one (no limit).

 

Time:

 

• 1.       Tee-time will be at 5:30 PM (or before if all parties are present) and we should be finished no later than 6:30 PM.
